New Hack: Panic Button - Global

Hi all,

I have now released Panic Button - Global here at Wolfshead Solutions, and is now available to download for all vBulletin.org Hacks Support subscribers.

This hack will be released at vBulletin.org on Saturday 20th March 2010.

This is a variation to my vBulletin 4.0.x hack - Panic Button - Postbit hack.

This hack gives your members their own vBulletin Boss Key (i.e. Panic button), which when enabled is displayed at the bottom right of every page including the CMS, blog and your own custom pages (as long as the headinclude_bottom template is being called by the custom page, which it should be), so your members can quickly click themselves to the safety of legitimate url if the boss turns up, while your members are at work.

NOTE: The Panic Button always floats at the bottom right, even when you scroll down the page.

This hack has been tested on Firefox 3.6, Chrome 4.0.249.89, Internet Explorer 8.0.7600.16385, Safari 4.04 and Opera 10.50. This should work with most other browsers and versions, but is not guaranteed, as the positioning is controlled by CSS.

This hack was created because I was inspired by the following two hacks:

• Panic Button 1.01 for vBulletin 3.5.x by yingyang.
• Panic Button 1.0.1 for vBulletin 3.0.x by dsboyce8624.

This hack is installed here at Wolfshead Solutions. To see a demonstration of this hack in action, all you need to do is be registered and logged in, then click on Settings in the header, then click General Settings on the left. At the bottom are the settings to turn this hack on.

Just a small note, at the same time I will also be releasing a version of this for users of vBulletin 3.8.x (which should also work on v3.7.x, v3.6.x and maybe even 3.5.x).
