Question Two tab-related questions (highlight and dropdown)

About 6 months ago I posted a question regarding highlight of active tab to forum. I wanted to post more in that thread but for some reason it is closed. So here are new questions:

    1) Does your tabs product show a tab as active (highlighted) if I link it to a specific forum (hidden or not) and a user is anywhere in that forum, in a thread, posting, etc.? Or does it at any time revert to the normal "Forum" tab instead?

I know you're last update fixes the first part (linking to a forum) but I can't see anything specific about the last part: showing tab active when ANYWHERE within said forum (posting in a thread, reading posts, etc.)

    2) I need multiple levels in the dropdown navigation, not only one but at least three levels. See here for an example of what I mean: http://devsnippets.com/img/drop-down-menu1.jpg

EDIT: Oh, and tabs and sub-menus need to be able to be set as usergroup specific. I need to be able to allow all or only certain usergroups to see the link/tab (as well as the option for all EXCEPT a certain group). This product at vb-org does all of the above, except multiple dropdown levels and forum thread highlighting.

Even though I think your product is overpriced, if it does both of those requests I am willing to fork out the dough.

    Thanks!

    Hi SnitchSeeker,

    I will answer these one-by-one:

I normally close threads in one of two circumstances: if the question has been answered or if there has been no reply for over a month. It helps prevent off-topic questions that differ from the question(s) posed by the original poster from being posted to the thread and thereby polluting it.

It will highlight, but not anywhere in that forum, it is not as simple as it seems to backtrack if a thread, posting etc is associated with a specific forum unless the right variables are exposed (and can be interrogated). I should be able to work around that in a future version, but I do not when that will be.

It is very unlikely that there will be multiple levels of submenu links supported in this product. Saying that, I may be able to add support for submenu on dropdown tabs in a future version, but until I really get familiar with CSS (which is one of my weaker skills at the moment) I will not when that will be.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion, that choice is yours. But in the opinion of customers who have purchased T&LM, it is a far better product than any of the free ones available on vBulletin.org.

    Thanks Mosh.

I'm sure it is better, but there's a far cry between free and $60 (for unbranded). I wouldn't even mind about the money, if it in fact did what I am asking. But since you can't do it, I don't see the point in paying for something that only works "pretty good" rather than something that fills all my needs.

Thanks again! I'll keep my eyes on this nonetheless and should it one day function as I need, I will take the plunge. Until then, good luck and I wish you great success!

I just realized I could probably help you in that arena. I am a master CSS'er and can do any coding you need, except the php/db stuff.

I can pay you the big bucks for this awesome product, if I can only get the extra levels in the menu. I can wait for the highlighting, since I trust that you will figure that out sooner or later and it's not the worst thing in the world, as long as it doesn't highlight any tab at all. (No tab is better than the wrong one being lit.)

Let me know if I can help with CSS stuff and what all you would need. Here's a system that is exactly what we need, but isn't made for vB: http://www.smartmenus.org/

    Check it out for inspiration.
